The professor was ensnared when a 14-page PowerPoint presentation of his affair with a student, went viral on social media. A married university professor in southeast China has been suspended from Nanjing Normal University in Jiangsu province following allegations of indecent behaviour after Song’s affair with a doctoral student was uncovered by the ex-boyfriend of the student.
The professor, whose surname was Song, served as the vice dean of the Environmental School. He was involved when his 14-page PowerPoint presentation in which he chronicled his infidelity with a student whose surname was Wang became a viral hit on social media, South China Morning Post reported.
The presentation featured several screenshots of online chats between Wang and Song, 46. The chats shared personal details of their romance, with Wang referring to Song as the pet name “Piggy,” while he called her “Xiangxiang” – after a character in her name. Interestingly, Song repeatedly asked Wang to erase their chat records and take him off her contact list.
The letter exposed Wang’s boyfriend after Wang turned down a date citing exhaustion, only to be out with Song in a hotel, as reported by Red Star News. More of their conversations confirmed Song telling Wang to marry a younger man once she graduated, an offer which she turned down, declaring she loved him. The boyfriend owned up to being suspicious of Wang because she became more and more aloof.
In the concluding remarks of the document, the boyfriend reacted with disgust and the emotional shock he felt upon learning of the affair. When I discovered my girlfriend had this revolting relationship with her married mentor, my mind went blank immediately. A long time had lapsed before I could remain cool enough to expose the truth to the public. No one should be the ‘young guy’, Mr Song proposed,” he was quoted by the outlet.
Though the university punished Song, there was still no word whether Wang was dealt with. The case resonated with that of last year in which a woman made a 58-page file about the chequered past of cheating by her boyfriend with 300 women, after which he was dismissed from his high-profile banking job in Shenzhen.
