Fahad Al Muwallad injured in balcony fall in Dubai

Media coverage reported a bad incident in which the captain of the Saudi Arabian national football team and a player for Al Shabab fell from the second floor of a balcony of his residence in Dubai. It has been suggested that the event happened sometime between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Thursday, requiring urgent medical intervention.

The 30-year-old was taken to Rashid Hospital in Dubai with multiple fractures and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Al Shabab said it was true that the man had been involved in a blast but did not give the degree of injury that the man had incurred.

Al Muwallad, in the early days of his professional football career, joined Al-Ittihad, a Saudi Arabia Club where he scored almost 76 goals from more than 240 appearances. He also went on loan to Spanish club Levante during his time in Spain, where he became the first Saudi Arabian player to play in the Spanish La Liga, though he only played two matches.

He has featured in 38 games for Al Shabab since joining the team in 2022 while scoring 2 goals and has been a vital force to his team. Before the accident, he featured in all the 2024/25 season games. He recently featured for KSA in the World Cup qualifiers against Indonesia and China, where he played 19 minutes in the two matches.
