Two flash bombs were fired toward Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea on Saturday (Nov 16). A report by the news agency Reuters, citing the police on Sunday, said that the bombs fell in the garden.
The police said that neither Prime Minister Netanyahu nor his family were present at the house, and no damage was reported. They added that an investigation had been launched.
Times of Israel quoted the police as saying they have arrested three people in connection with the incident. The court has ordered a gag on publishing any investigation details or the suspects’ identities for 30 days.
“It cannot be that the State of Israel’s prime minister, who is threatened by Iran and its proxies seeking his assassination, should be threatened from within by the same, said Katz, now defense minister.
“The Shin Bet and the Israel Police and all law enforcement and judicial agencies must forthwith do, and using all vigor, take the steps necessary to bring this grave phenomenon to an end and this situation to its termination,” he said. Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the incident and said an investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said in a statement, “The incitement against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu crosses all boundaries. Throwing a flash bomb into his house tonight is crossing another red line.”
