Gaza doctors warn that thousands of infants may perish, as supplies of baby formula dry up under Israel’s blockade.
At least 95 Palestinians were slaughtered in Israeli attacks across Gaza, including over a dozen desperate individuals looking for food at US-Israel-backed aid distribution centres.
The UN’s Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) says that over 82 per cent of the Gaza Strip’s total area is subject to Israeli forced evacuation orders, and individuals have nowhere to be evacuated to.
The agency, which Israel wishes to close down because it “supports terrorism”, added that the Israeli military stormed another one of its schools-turned-shelters for displaced Palestinians in Gaza on Monday morning.
Israeli aircraft have blasted dozens of such schools since the war began, killing huge numbers of Palestinians who had taken refuge within. Over 165 major international aid and nongovernmental organisations have demanded an immediate stop to the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), the secretive organisation created by the US and Israel to override the UN and institutionalised international aid agencies.
“Palestinians in Gaza are presented with a choice of impossibility: starve or risk being shot attempting desperately to gain access to food to feed their families. The weeks that have elapsed since the introduction of the Israeli distribution system have been some of the deadliest and bloodiest since October 2023,” said the group in a collective press release, continuing that GHF presents “nothing but starvation and gunfire” to the people of Gaza.
The UN and other organisations providing aid have continually stated that they are capable of providing sustainable aid to Palestinians in Gaza, if Israel removes its blockade that has pushed over two million Palestinians to the edge of famine.
Approximately 600 Palestinians have been slain in or close to the GHF aid facilities since they began in late March. The GHF replied in a statement, stating that settled aid organisations must cease “sniping and name-calling from the sidelines” and unite with the group led by an evangelical leader, Johnnie Moore Jr, who is one of the closest allies of Donald Trump.
