In the currently war-ravaged city of Gaza, which has seen most of its citizens displaced from their homes, a man known as a food blogger has started using his food blog to feed displaced children as a way of giving them hope. Within Gaza itself, where Palestinians have been living under a blockade by Israel, tens of thousands have been killed; more than 37,000 are reported to have been killed in the strip alone.
To survive, Hamada has been forced to change his way of preparing food because the camp is experiencing a shortage of food and resources; they use canned goods and humanitarian aid shipments to feed many people.
However, due to the numerous limitations, Hamada and his team ensured that these meals reached the displaced children. They have also ventured to source safe drinking water, with the Lady of the House, Hamada, caught on camera driving a water truck to families.
The disabled boy Hamada has been receiving international support since his accounts of experiencing abuse at school, so he has an audience who supports him and also those who donate money towards his cause. He considers his content as ‘‘an avenue to narrate reality’’ and ‘‘a unit of resistance towards negativity.’’.
This was Hamada’s testimony of strength from this experience of finding out the true meaning of life when everything is against one. The unseen man you see feeding the displaced children in his picture has made him human in war.
