German police arrest teen accused of prior knowledge of fatal knife attack

There was a horrific event in the western German city of Solingen last night as mass stabbing took place, with three people killed and several injured. These details that are coming out today depict the events that were experienced as rather negative.

In a bid to solve the attack, the police have detained a fifteen-year-old person, although it appears that this particular teenager was not the main aggressor. The arrested youth is said to have had some prior knowledge of the said attack and yet could not come forward and report the matter to the authorities.

The circumstances of the actual attacker’s identity are still undetermined during the ongoing investigation. Civil authorities have reported that among the deceased there are a 67-year-old man, a 56-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman who became the victims of the tragedy. Of the eight people who were injured, it is reported that four of them required serious treatment.

What is even worse, the police have not excluded the possibility of a ‘terrorist’ act in light of the fact that the aggressor seems to have had no prior acquaintance with the victims. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has urged for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator to the nth degree.

According to the media, Solingen this morning was fairly deserted as citizens of the town offered their tributes to the deceased and police patrols maintained a constant presence at the scene of the crime. It is quite clear that this brutal act has shocked the community to the core, and they are still coming to terms with the loss that resulted from this incidence.
