Houthi rebels launch drone strikes on Tel Aviv, supporting Palestine

Yemen’s Houthi rebels launched early morning drone strikes targeting Tel Aviv in support of Palestinian and Lebanese resistance against Israel. In a statement, the Houthis said that the operation reached its targets.

It read:

“The Drone Air Force of the Yemeni Armed Forces waged a military operation early Saturday morning, in which several drones targeted a vital entity in the area of Yaffa, Tel Aviv, within occupied Palestine. The operation went well, with the drones reaching their targets without any intercept by the enemy forces.”.

The Houthis described the attack as falling under the fifth phase of the “Battle of the Promised Conquest” in a show of solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon and Hamas’s ongoing “Al-Aqsa Flood” campaign.

Large parts of Yemen are under the control of the Houthis, who view Israel as an enemy. Since the surge in Middle East fighting a year ago, they have allied themselves with Hamas. They are considered part of Iran’s so-called “Axis of Resistance” against Israel and the United States.

The Houthis have ordered at least a half-dozen missile strikes against Israeli cities over the past few months, with Israel firing back in airstrikes that targeted vital Houthi infrastructure-power plants included. Besides that, seaports used by the Houthis to transfer Iranian weapons were also under assault.
