Indian student in the US missing from last week, police seek help.
23-year-old Nitheesha Kandula, a student of California State University, San Bernardino, has been reported missing since May 28. Chief of Police John Gutierrez stated she was last seen in Los Angeles and reported missing on May 30.
In a request shared on social media, the police said – “#MissingPersonAlert: California State University, San Bernardino Police, along with our partners in #LAPD, is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of @CSUSBNews Nitheesha Kandula to contact us at (909) 537-5165.”
Kandula is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs around 160 pounds, and has black hair and eyes. Police reported that she was possibly driving a 2021 Toyota Corolla without disclosing the car’s colour.
People with information have been urged to contact the University Police or LAPD’s Southwest Division. The case adds to recent incidents involving missing Indian students in the US.
In April, a 25-year-old from Hyderabad was found dead in Cleveland. Last month, a 26-year-old went missing from Chicago. Earlier, trained dancer Amarnath Ghosh was shot in Missouri, and Purdue University student Sameer Kamath died in Indiana.
With rising concerns, the community hopes Kandula is recovered safely at the earliest through coordinated efforts between different law enforcement teams.
