Iran’s Khamenei moved after Hezbollah chief killed

Hassan Nasrallah was killed in a rocket strike on Iran-supported Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut. It is learned now that following the killing of the Hezbollah leader, Iran’s Supreme Leader was taken to a secret location.

Al Arabiya News reported that, according to sources, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was shifted to a safe house with additional security following the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah by an Israeli rocket in Beirut.

Israel’s military says it has “liquidated” Nasrallah after bombing Hezbollah’s central command in the Lebanese capital, where the 64-year-old cleric was reportedly holed up in a bunker. The militant group has yet to comment on his fate.

Israeli airstrikes in Beirut’s southern suburb struck several buildings, said the Israeli military in an announcement regarding hits scored.

Dahiyeh area is a known bastion of Hezbollah. Four buildings were reportedly destroyed in the strikes, which sent powerful blasts throughout the city, leaving several large craters with damage to nearby structures.

The search and rescue operations lasted the whole night. Nine people have been confirmed dead, and more than 90 have been wounded, said Lebanon’s health ministry. Civilians left their homes and slept on the streets as the wave of airstrikes cut through their cities.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, there are deaths of foremost Hezbollah leaders and operatives in the strikes. Among them are Muhammad Ali Ismail, head of the missile unit of Hezbollah, and his deputy.
