Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed in a strike on Beirut, the Israeli military said today. A source close to Hezbollah told the AFP news agency that communication with the 64-year-old Nasrallah had been lost since Friday night.
“Hassan Nasrallah is dead,” military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani announced on X.
Israeli jets have pounded dozens of Hezbollah locations in eastern and southern Lebanon after the group unleashed intense rocket fire at northern Israel.
Israeli air strikes continued to pound the Lebanese Shi’a political party Hezbollah strongholds in southern Beirut yesterday night, razing several residential buildings.
“He will no longer be able to terrorize the world,” said the statement put up by the Israeli Defence Forces.

“This is not the end of our toolbox.
The message is simple: anyone who threatens the citizens of Israel — we will know how to reach them”, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi said in a statement.
This wave of retaliatory strikes followed hours after Hezbollah declared responsibility for firing rockets into northern Israel.
This attack on the kibbutz Kabri used Fadi-1 rockets, which Hezbollah said was in defense of Lebanon against the “barbaric” aggression by Israel.
