Israel launches 480 strikes in Syria amid ongoing conflict

Military officials said the Israeli military has carried out 480 airstrikes within Syria over the past 48 hours, targeting naval vessels, anti-aircraft batteries, and facilities used for producing weapons in several cities. The military sources added that strikes destroyed 15 naval vessels.

In response, Syria’s caretaker Prime Minister, Mohammed al-Bashir, stressed the urgent need for “stability and calm” within the country. He said that efforts are underway to collaborate with officials from Bashar al-Assad’s regime to restore public services and institutional functions.

Meanwhile, Syrian opposition forces reportedly took control of the northeastern city of Deir Az Zor from Kurdish forces. Ahmed al-Sharaa, leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, also known as al-Julani, expressed a commitment to rebuilding Syria, noting that the population is “exhausted” after enduring 14 years of conflict.
