
Military officials said the Israeli military has carried out 480 airstrikes within Syria over the past 48 hours, targeting naval vessels, anti-aircraft batteries, and facilities used for producing weapons in several cities. The military sources added that strikes destroyed 15 naval vessels.
In response, Syria’s caretaker Prime Minister, Mohammed al-Bashir, stressed the urgent need for “stability and calm” within the country. He said that efforts are underway to collaborate with officials from Bashar al-Assad’s regime to restore public services and institutional functions.
Meanwhile, Syrian opposition forces reportedly took control of the northeastern city of Deir Az Zor from Kurdish forces. Ahmed al-Sharaa, leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, also known as al-Julani, expressed a commitment to rebuilding Syria, noting that the population is “exhausted” after enduring 14 years of conflict.
