The Israeli army urged the residents in several districts of southern Lebanon, including a Palestinian refugee camp, to leave their homes, saying it was ready to attack targets of the radical movement Hezbollah there.
This is an urgent statement to the residents of #South Lebanaon in the villages of Al-Hawsh, Al-Bazouriya, Al-Rashidiya Camp, Al-Barghaliya, Bustiyat, Al-Hamri, Arzi, Mataria Al-Shomr, Al-Kharaib, and Ansar.
We do this by compelling the IDF to act firmly against the terrorist activities of Hezbollah in those areas, and we do not intend to harm you. You must leave your homes now and head toward the northern regions of the Awal River for your safety.
” You must vacate without any delay for your safety,” Avishay Andrae, an Israeli military Arabic-language spokesman, said in a post on X.
It said any person who comes close to Hezbollah elements, facilities, or weapons is putting his life in real danger.
“You are forbidden from heading south. Any movement south could be dangerous to your life. We shall inform you of the appropriate time to return to your homes as soon as the conditions are suitable,” added the post.
Israeli airstrikes hit the eastern Lebanese city of Baalbek, home to one of the most famous Roman ruins in the Middle East and a UNESCO World Heritage site, killing at least 19 people Wednesday, Lebanon’s Health Ministry and state-run news agency reported.
The Israeli military had warned all residents earlier in the day to leave the city, including its ancient Roman temple complex.
