Guterres did not celebrate the killing of arch-terrorist Yahya Sinwar, no more than he pronounced Hamas a terrorist organization after the massacre of October 7. Guterres leads an extreme anti-Israel and anti-Jewish agenda, Katz said in a post on X.
A day after Israel confirmed that Yahya Sinwar was killed in the Gaza operation, Israeli foreign minister Israel Katz on Friday slammed UN Secretary-General António Guterres for not “welcoming” the killing of Hamas leader and accused him of “leading an extreme anti-Israel and anti-Jewish agenda.”
“Guterres did not hail the liquidation of terror icon Yahya Sinwar just as he did not brand Hamas a terrorist organization after the October 7 massacre. Guterres is heading an extreme anti-Israel and anti-Jewish agenda,” Katz posted on X.
UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres did not celebrate the removal of arch-terrorist Yahya Sinwar, nor did he label Hamas a terrorist organization even after the October 7 massacre. Guterres is leading a hyper-anti-Israel and anti-Jewish agenda. We will continue.
There, the Israeli military declared the death of Sinwar, the mastermind behind the October 7 attack, after a group of soldiers killed him in a surprise firefight in southern Gaza’s Rafah.
The death is a heavy blow to the Palestinian militant movement waging a war against Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip for over a year now.
Earlier in the month, Israel declared Guterres “persona non grata” and refused him entry after Israeli foreign minister Katz charged Guterres had failed to “unequivocally” condemn Iran’s missile attack on Israel.
