Israel strikes Gaza, violating ceasefire: live updates

At least 404 individuals have been murdered, including numerous children, as Israel renews Gaza attacks. The Israeli air force carried out a huge attack all over the Gaza Strip early on Tuesday morning and killed at least 404 individuals, including lots of children, and left several others injured.

The number of fatalities is bound to increase because many individuals are still trapped beneath the rubble of buildings that have been bombed. Israel’s raids have broken the tenuous two-month-old truce with Hamas that started on January 19.

Israeli strikes hit numerous places in the Gaza Strip, north to south, such as Jabalia, Beit Hanoon, Gaza City, Nuseirat, Deir el-Balah, Khan Younis and Rafah. Safe humanitarian zones, such as the al-Mawasi zones, were also hit.

In a statement on X, the Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee instructed residents of the following neighbourhoods to “evacuate immediately”, adding their areas would become “dangerous combat zones.

On January 15, Israel and Hamas agreed on a three-stage ceasefire agreement to bring an end to more than 460 days of the war that destroyed Gaza. The agreement, which went into effect on January 19, consisted of a ceasefire to stop the devastation caused to Gaza, the freeing of hostages taken in Gaza for thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israel, and the potential for returning Palestinians who were displaced to their homes.

But Israel broke the ceasefire many times between January 19 and March 17, killing a minimum of 170 in Gaza, an average of almost three deaths per day. Gaza authorities have recorded over 350 violations by Israel, including military intrusions, gunfire, aerial bombings, increased monitoring and the blockade of aid.
