Blasts kill 9 in Lebanon, satirist slams Israel’s ‘hostage’ tactics.
At least 9 people died while nearly 3,000 sustained injuries in mysterious blasts of pagers used by Hezbollah members across Lebanon. Reports claimed Mossad planted explosives in Taiwan-made devices ordered by the Iran-backed group.
Reacting sharply, Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef tweeted that everyday devices could become ‘time bombs’ at Israel’s whims.
Referring to the lack of political or media discussions, he stated how the whole country and world are a ‘hostage’ of the Jewish nation.
Over 100 explosions were also reported in Syria on the same day, with Iranian ambassador Mojtaba Amani injured.
Hezbollah strongly condemned the ‘biggest breach’ in its security recently and vowed retaliation against Israel. Youssef has routinely criticized Tel Aviv’s ongoing war with Hamas and its ‘alternative reality’ propaganda.
He had earlier slammed Israel as a ‘typical narcissist’ for subjecting Gaza civilians to violence for nearly two years now.
The satirist’s witty responses to Piers Morgan’s questions on Palestinian killings too had gone viral on social media platforms.
