Israeli air strike kills 4 in Gaza hospital tent camp, over 70 injured.
An Israeli air attack on tents housing displaced Palestinians inside Gaza’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital has killed at least four and critically injured over 70 people.
Videos showed rescue workers scrambling to douse fires and retrieve survivors from the charred rubble after the pre-dawn attack in Deir al-Balah city.
One survivor narrated how explosions and fires engulfed the tightly packed camp as displacement from their homes for the second year continues in Gaza. Volunteer doctors said burn victims faced bleak chances, with injuries covering 60-80% of bodies.
Israel claimed the hospital grounds were used by Hamas for attacks, though provided no evidence. The UN earlier found Israel targeting Gaza’s Medicare systematically. Over 20 tents were razed to the ground, leaving many buried under the ruins unable to be retrieved yet.
The incident follows Israeli bombardment of a school sheltering displaced in Nuseirat that killed 22 more on Sunday.
Around 400,000 Palestinians trapped in besieged northern Gaza now face food shortages as Israel continues its offensive launched last October, with over 42,000 killed so far.
