Israeli airstrikes killed a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist who took part in the October 7 attacks and a Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon, and the Israel Defense Forces announced on Monday morning.
Ahmed Al-Dalu, a member of the military intelligence unit of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, was killed by the Air Force in Gaza. He participated in the October 7 attack on Kibbutz Kfar Aza, which killed at least 52 Israelis.
Soldiers continued operating in the Rafah area of southern Gaza. Yesterday, forces spotted a terrorist squad working from within a military structure in which landmines meant for attacks on the IDF troops were being kept. Soldiers directed an airstrike that killed the terrorists and destroyed the arms.
Meanwhile, in Lebanon, an airstrike killed Abu Ali Rida, who commanded Hezbollah forces in the southern Lebanese area of Baraachit. IDF said that he was responsible for coordinating and directing attacks against troops using rockets and anti-tank missiles while overseeing the activities of the terror group’s local operatives.
Israeli forces continued operations in southern Lebanon killing terrorists uncovering weapons and destroying the Hezbollah infrastructure. In one incident, troops hit a terrorist who was hiding in a building near the Israeli border, officials said. There were multiple secondary explosions visible, which indicated weapons were present, the IDF said.
Following the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023, Hezbollah launched daily rocket and drone attacks against the communities of northern Israel. This has displaced over 68,000 residents of northern Israel from their homes. Hezbollah leaders have announced on many occasions that they are continuing the attacks so that the Israelis do not return home.
