Gaza witnesses more air raid deaths as Israel continues operations
Four neighborhoods in Gaza City saw 39 lives lost after Israeli airstrikes, officials said. The death toll was confirmed by Palestinian authorities and is expected to rise as rescue efforts are underway to pull survivors from the rubble.
Doctors at al-Ahli Hospital said over three dozen bodies were brought in immediately after the bombardment across northern, southern, easter, and western areas. A massive crater was also reported in densely packed Shati refugee camp in the west.
While IDF-maintained fighter jets struck two Hamas infrastructure sites without detail, it comes a day after 25 deaths at strikes on coastal tents. Israel has affirmed continuing central and southern Gaza offensives along with Rafah ground action.
The UN stressed Gaza has no safe spaces amid dire humanitarian conditions. On Friday, 22 out of 25 victims were with ICRC which saw its office near displaced civilian tents damaged in nearby shelling.
“Firing so dangerously close to aid structures risks civilian and humanitarian lives,” the body noted. That day also saw an IAF strike kill a Lebanon-based Sunni militant allied to Hamas in the Bekaa Valley, the seventh such target eliminated in Israeli attacks across the border.
As violence intensifies after over a week, concerns are growing about civilian protection and emergency services access. Both sides show no signs of appeasement despite global calls for de-escalation and truce.
