Israeli airstrikes in Gaza Kill 21 amid ongoing conflict

Israeli forces have again attacked the so-called “safe zone” in Gaza’s al-Mawasi, killing at least 21 people and injuring dozens more, according to Atif Al-Hout, director of the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. Reports say women and children were among those “incinerated” in the attack.

Despite a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, Israeli airstrikes have continued in southern Lebanon, targeting what the military describes as a launchpad in the Majdal Zoun area.

The war in Gaza has caused an unprecedented number of casualties, with at least 44,532 Palestinians killed and 105,538 injured since October 7, 2023, when the fighting started. On that day, at least 1,139 people in Israel were killed in Hamas-led attacks, and more than 200 were taken hostage.

Casualties in Lebanon have been staggering, too, with reports of at least 4,047 people killed and another 16,638 wounded by Israeli strikes since violence began in Gaza.
