Israeli army Investigates Itself amidst ongoing conflict

Military leadership listed some of the cases but claimed to have never released the complete list of ongoing investigations and only responded to inquiries relating to individual investigations.

During its seven-month-long disputes with Hamas, Israel has drawn some specific commitments on the series of tragic incidents in which its troops are believed to be involved. This despite human rights organizations and the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court categorizing leaders of the country as war criminals for actions particularly in Hamas-governed Gaza.

In one of the most publicized incidents, the execution of five foreign humanitarian noncombatants during an attack on a WCK convoy, the Israeli army released all the results of the investigation in a matter of days, admitted some distressing misconduct by its personnel, and removed two, saying that they had gone rogue. However, other studies are still ongoing pending the required outcome, which is a confession of a person’s guilt.

The Military Advocate General, Maj. Gen. Yi fat Tomer-Rusholme, said that this week approximately 70 cases of alleged misdeed are under military examination. She gave a few details. The military has not released the entire list of internal inquiries, and when responding to The Association of State Connected Presses, it stated that it only responded to individual investigations.
