Israeli assault on Gaza intensifies, conditions worsen

Israeli forces have intensified their assault on Gaza, killing at least 10 people in Gaza City and causing power generators at Kamal Adwan Hospital to fail. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus described the conditions at the besieged hospital as “appalling,” calling for an end to the ongoing violence.

Among the martyrs of the recent bombings was Khaled Nabhan, a grandfather whose emotional response to the death of his granddaughter touched millions of people around the world. He would mourn her as the “soul of my soul.

Since the start of hostilities on October 7, 2023, the war has resulted in at least 45,028 Palestinians losing their lives and leaving another 106,962 seriously injured. The initial attacks conducted by Hamas that day killed 1,139 people in Israel and included more than 200 captures. The rising intensity threatens to further deteriorate humanitarian situations in the region.
