Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant on Wednesday (Oct 9) warned that a retaliatory attack on Iran would be “lethal, precise and. surprising.” Addressing the country’s troops, Galant vowed that Tehran would “pay the price.”
While addressing the troops, Galant said that Israel’s “strike will be lethal, precise and above all, surprising. They won’t understand what happened and how. They will see the results.”.
Whoever hits us will be hit and pay the price,” vowed the Israeli defense minister, describing the Oct 1 missile attack as a failure.
The statement is strong enough as the temperature keeps building between Israel and Iran. This week, on Oct 1, Iran fired barrages of missiles at Israel, which fended off the attack with the help of the United States.
Even as Israel vows “lethal” retaliation, US President Joe Biden said he would not back a retaliatory strike on sites linked to Iran’s nuclear program.
Biden-Netanyahu call
Also on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden spoke over the phone for the first time since August.
