Israeli raids in West Bank claim 10 Palestinian lives

An estimated 10 or more Palestinian people died due to Israeli night operations in the West Bank, including aerial bombings, according to the Red Crescent representative on Wednesday.

Some of the fatalities were inflicted in Jenin city itself, and four in a village outside the city as well as four others in a refugee camp, 5 kilometers close to Tubas, according to an official of Red Crescent Ahmed Jibril. Besides, 15 others were injured while in the operations.

The Israeli army said it was carrying out what it termed as an ‘anti-terrorism operation in the Jenin and Tulkarm area in the northern part of the West Bank. This escalation comes after an airstrike was conducted in the area recently, which the Palestinian Authority accused of having killed five people.

But the West Bank has also seen rising violence amid the Gaza conflict, with over 640 Palestinians killed by Israeli security forces and settlers since the Hamas attack on October 7, as per an AFP count based on figures from the Palestinian health ministry. At the same time, at least 19 Israelis have been killed in the attacks, which Palestinians took responsibility for, as the Israeli officials state.
