JD Vance insults childless women, Elon Musk swipes at Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris

Musk takes a dig at Swift over Harris endorsement using the controversial term.

After pop star Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris, Tesla CEO Elon Musk took a swipe at her on social media.

Swift had said she admired Harris’ leadership and defended LGBTQ+ and women’s rights. She signed off her message as “Childless Cat Lady”.

This reference was aimed at criticism by Donald Trump‘s running mate JD Vance who has derided women choosing not to have children.

In 2021, Vance had labeled leaders like Harris as being controlled by “childless cat ladies”, depicting them negatively.

Musk responded to Swift’s post by saying he would give her a child and care for her cats, mocking her self-description. Vance has frequently attacked liberal women for declining birth rates, alleging they don’t value society’s future.

His comments have been criticized as insulting to those deciding their family plans. Other allies like Musk have used similar terms.

As prominent figures take opposing sides in the upcoming elections, the debate around reproductive rights continues amid gender divides.
