Harris will be on the side of the Democratic Party as the president’s running mate, while Walz will be her partner to represent the party in the coming elections scheduled for November 5 against Republicans Trump and Vance.
Minnesota governor Tim Walz selected, on Tuesday, vice president Kamala Harris as his running partner for the upcoming presidential elections, according to Reuters.
Harris, the candidate of the Democratic Party, witnessed the ceremony where she pleaded to assume the presidency of the United States ahead of Republicans Trump and JD Vance on November 5th; Walz witnessed too, being her running mate.
With a background from the US Army National Guard and a former school teacher, Walz, 60, entered the US House of Representatives and won a Republican-leaning district in 2006. He was selected 12 years before getting to the office of the governor via election in the year 2018 for the state of Minnesota.
The former vice president Joe Biden has shunned the presidency, and therefore Harris has indeed secured the nomination to the presidency. She is still to formally acknowledge the nomination during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago later this month, after which she can get on state ballots.
