Kyiv Hit by Explosions Amid Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Urgent Shelter Warnings Issued After Injuries and Missile Damage

Multiple explosions rocked Kyiv as air raid sirens sounded.

Kyiv was rocked by multiple explosions around 10:30 am on Monday as air raid sirens echoed throughout the city. Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged residents to take shelter via social media posts immediately. He said emergency services were rushed to three districts following the blasts.

The Head of Kyiv’s military administration stated a missile hit a residential building in the Pechersky district, and details were being confirmed.

Earlier, nearly a dozen people were wounded in a Russian drone strike on southern Ukraine overnight. At the same time, a fire broke out at a major Russian power plant after a Ukrainian drone attack.

Russia has been escalating aerial attacks on Kyiv in recent days, targeting key infrastructure in retaliation for Ukrainian strikes on Russian border regions.

Citizens panicked as explosions rocked the city center, and officials reiterated appeals to take shelter amid heightened security alerts. Ukrainian forces continue to counter escalating attacks by Russia.
