LeT co-founder Amir Hamza hospitalized under ISI security

Lashkar-e-Taiba co-founder Amir Hamza was severely injured at his residence and is currently in a Lahore hospital under tight ISI security, reports say Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) co-founder Amir Hamza was badly injured under suspicious circumstances at his home and was hospitalised in Lahore under tight ISI security, reported The Times of India.

The media say that Lashkar’s publication editor, aged 66, was badly hurt at his home and is being treated at a Pakistani military hospital in Lahore under the guard of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Lashkar cadre-affiliated Telegram channels mentioned the attack on Tuesday night, asking members to hold their ground amid the “crisis” and claiming it was just an “accident.”.

The attack came within three days of Abu Saifullah, a top Lashkar operative and also LeT’s most important recruiter, being gunned down by unknown assailants in Pakistan. Confirming the news, sources close to the development stated that Hamza, one of the 17 founding members of LeT, was injured in a domestic accident at his residence. Contrary to social media reports stating that he had been shot, India Today reported.

This comes just days after LeT terrorist Razaullah Nizamani alias Abu Saifullah was gunned down by unknown attackers in Pakistan’s Sindh province, PTI reported on Sunday, quoting officials. Nizamani said to have been receiving security from the government, was attacked near a road crossing in Matli, Sindh, soon after he left his residence that day.

He was involved in some of the biggest terror strikes in India, such as the 2001 attack on a CRPF camp in Rampur, the 2005 attack on the Indian Science Congress in Bangalore, and the 2006 attack on the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.
