A man has been arrested for stabbing people at a shopping center in Melbourne. At least several people were left injured following the incident on Tuesday.
Emergency services in Victoria reported that the attack happened at 2:25 PM local time at the Fountain Gate shopping center in the southeastern part of the city. Authorities also confirmed that three people, two men, and one woman, were attacked at a bus stop nearby and were taken to a hospital in the area. Their wounds have been considered not dangerous, Xinhua news agency said.
The victims were said to have been cut by a box cutter, according to local sources. The suspect, a 30-year-old local man, left the scene but was later caught by police inside the mall. Police patrolled the scene heavily, and someone on social media was able to comment that the man who was taken into custody was covered in blood.
