Each mediator declares a ‘bridging proposal’ that is a roadmap towards the formation of a regionally lessen tone and thus bringing an end to the war.
Three countries—America, Qutar, and Egypt—have claimed that the mediators have produced a ‘bridging proposal’ under which there can be a ‘fast’ enactment of a deal that would cease the war in Gaza and the release of Israeli captives.
What the three countries said on Friday was that ceasefire negotiations taking place in Doha were’serious and constructive’.
The current round of talks began on Thursday and came with a heightened risk of a regional war following Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah’s military point man in Beirut, Mohammed Allan, and the elimination of Hamas’s political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.
The Friday statement repeated statements that the mediators made in rejecting any cessation of a process aimed at achieving a cessation of hostilities and the release of the hostages.
“The course is now clear for that result, the saving of lives, the delivery of aid to the people of Gaza, and the reduction of tension in the region,” the three countries said on Friday.
The announcement did not mention specifics of the new solution but said it comes on the back of a plan offered by Biden in May.
The US-sponsored strategy of the ceasefire would involve a stop of the war in several stages over six weeks; this will allow some Israeli hostages held in Gaza to be released while Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons will also be freed.
