Pyongyang’s top diplomat also briefs his Russian counterpart on a US and South Korea ‘nuclear plot’ against North Korea.
North Korea will stand with Russia until the latter wins in Ukraine, Pyongyang’s Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui said on Tuesday in Moscow as the United States issued a stark warning that thousands of North Korea’s troops were massed at the Ukrainian border and could soon be ordered into combat.
In a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday, Choe also claimed that the United States and South Korea were planning a nuclear strike on her nation.
Our traditional, historically friendly relations, which have traveled the tested path of history, today … are rising to a new level of relations of invincible military comradeship,” she said, praising the role played in this by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
She said North Korea did not doubt that under Putin’s “wise leadership,” the Russian army and people would “achieve a great victory in their sacred struggle to protect the sovereign rights and security interests of their state.”
“And we also assure you that until the day of victory, we will firmly stand alongside our Russian comrades,” Choe said.
Lavrov has mentioned that the militaries of the two countries had “very close ties,” which allowed them to solve important security tasks together.
