Pakistan’s ISI Deeply Embedded in Kabul, Claims Amrullah Saleh

According to Afghanistan Green Trend (AGT) and the country’s former vice president Amrullah Saleh, there are more than 150 Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) officials in the Pakistani embassy in Kabul.

The Taliban’s takeover of Kabul was a victory for Islamabad, according to Saleh. This cadet is supposed to protect Pakistan’s interests and spread terror worldwide. According to Saleh, ISI cadres are in all the provinces, whether Kabul, Kandahar, Mazar, Jalalabad, or Panjshir.

The ISI has allegedly been tasked with removing “Indian proximity sentiments” from Afghan media.
Here is a list of 166 ISI operatives, according to CNN-News18.

These officers are in suits and salwar kameez in Kabul, and long beards near the Taliban, said a source close to Saleh. “These ISI officers are close to Mullah Abdul Kabir, Mullah Jawad Tajmir, Maulvi Nadeem, Mali Khan, and the senior militias associated with Siraj Haqqani.

In 2022, the ISI facilitated a financial payment of US $500,000 for Fasehuddin Fetrat to procure a residence in Kabul. Earlier also in the Republic era, the ISI had orchestrated his medical evacuation via helicopter from Chitral.”

These interactions with powerful Taliban personalities were carefully groomed to gain control over policy-making in the Taliban’s administration, according to sources. The ISI adopted Taqi Usmani, another leading religious thinker, for dealing with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

He is a theologian based in Karachi who initially issued a religious ruling in support of jihad against Afghanistan. Usmani operates through financing from largely secular institutions along with intelligence staff. Its primary aim had been to reduce the risk of attacks by TTP inside Pakistan.

The outcome was a lull in the conflict during Imran Khan’s rule, which came to be popularly known as “Taliban Khan.” Taliban personnel from SSG are in the Panjshir Valley, committed to supporting the Taliban in their sniper attacks against the resistance forces in 2022.

This unit was not merely instructional but actively engaged in combat operations, ensuring the effective suppression of any opposition to Taliban control.
