External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also met Sheikh Hamdan and thanked him for his optimistic attitude towards their extensive cooperation and for strengthening the relationship.

Sheikh Hamdan visited New Delhi on a two-day tour and will head to Mumbai afterward after completing his work in the capital. The visit is the turning point in India-UAE relations, which have largely picked up pace over the past few years. The relationship was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership following PM Modi’s landmark visit to the UAE in August 2015. Additionally, the signing of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement in 2022 has further expanded bilateral trade and investment ties.
