Royal expert says window closing for Harry, Meghan to reconcile with family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now “irrelevant” to the royal family and time is running out for them to mend ties, according to a royal commentator.
Speaking on the Daily Mail’s ‘Palace Confidential’ show, Richard Eden observed the couple needs to act soon while Charles remains King if wanting to return as working royals.
“If Harry wants to come back at any stage, he needs to do it while his father is still King,” Eden remarked, noting Charles is reportedly unable to forgive Harry.
He suggested once William ascends the throne, prospects of regaining a royal position seem bleak. The expert also doubted any radical shift allowing their inclusion.
Harry and Meghan have lived in the US since exiting royal duties in 2020 amid family tensions exacerbated by their interviews and tell-alls.
Earlier, another royal author said chances of the duo resuming royal work, even on their terms, were “rapidly shrinking” as per palace sources who see such hopes as misguided.
Reports last year indicated Charles considered a temporary return for Harry but William was said to be barring this to shield Kate.
As time passes with the divide unresolved, commentators see the closing window for mending familial relations growing increasingly narrow.
