Queen Camilla receives a mini-me Barbie doll.
Queen Consort Camilla was gifted a scaled-down Barbie doll version of herself on Tuesday. The 76-year-old royal, president of the Women of the World Foundation, was presented with the doll aboard their festival bus in London.
Camilla’s Barbie wore an identical mini blue Fiona Clare dress, a black cape by Amanda Wakeley, and black boots by Eliot Zed that mirrored her outfit. “You’ve taken about 50 years off me…we should all have a Barbie,” the Queen quipped lightheartedly upon receiving the doll.
Mathilde, Queen of Belgium, and Oscar-winning actor Helen Mirren joined Camilla on the bus. Mirren, who played Queen Elizabeth II in the 2006 film The Queen, recently got her own Barbie, dressed just like her character, along with a tiny Academy Award statuette.
The annual WOW bus tour promotes gender equality across the UK before wrapping up at Buckingham Palace. It comes as King Charles III takes a step back from duties while battling illness. Last year’s box office hit ‘Barbie’ film, starring Margot Robbie, received widespread praise but only won one Oscar out of nine nominations recently.
