Queers for Palestine protesters arrested after blocking Disney World exit

An anti-Israel group from the Florida chapter of Queers for Palestine tried to prevent people from entering Walt Disney World, but they were stopped immediately. On May 11, these protesters, who wrapped coloured keffiyeh around their necks, created a strategic parking area in the Disney Off Ramp of I -4 in Orlando.

Their main concern was to accuse the company of backing up the crime and make the world realize that justice needs to be carried out for Palestine. By “free Palestine” and “displaying banners across the ramp,” the demonstrators tried to catch the attention of the world to their struggle. On the other hand, not all drivers were keen to share the road, which caused a delay.

Some courageous figures tried to pass the trucking blockade by driving along the asphalt shoulder. The tension reached its peak when a driver, frustrated with the blockage, approached the protesters and asked them to reconsider their actions. This exchange kept going and got nastier with the name-calling and rebuttals.

Finally, the video ended with the vehicles returning, meaning that the protesters had been dispersed. By this time, we were already down to the next checkpoint. However, the organization’s complaints against Disney still stand. They accuse the company of aligning with Israel while ignoring Palestinian casualties and claim that Disney’s inclusion of an Israeli superhero in the upcoming film ‘Captain America: S. Brave New World raises the bias problem.

Florida Highway Patrol, in its swift action, arrested the four protesters from Queers for Palestine within eleven minutes of the inception of the event. Bill Melugin, a journalist, reported that they were apprehended, emphasizing the state’s zero-tolerance policy for traffic blockades. Florida remains a stable order in the city and has well-regulated traffic on the roads.
