Moscow, August 6 (Reuters) Russian troops effectively countered a Ukrainian intrusion attempt on Tuesday, but the overall condition was still tense and two civilians died, according to the region president.
Currently, the acting head of the southern Kursk region of Russia, Alexei Smirnov, stated that the Russian military and FSB border troops had rejected an incursion from Ukraine.
The associated press reported on Russian media, quoting the FSB, that Russian forces had dealt with an armed provocation by Ukraine. Ukraine said nothing all this time.
The Telegram channel of MASH, with acquaintance with Russian state security, said that about 100 Ukrainian fighters attempted to cross into Russia in the Sudzha area of the Kursk region.
Smirnov posted in the Telegram that the villages had been shelling “massive” from the side of Ukraine. He stated that a woman and a child, a female civilian, were killed in Sudzha, while a man and a minibus driving near the village of Nekhaevka were instantly killed when the minibus was hit by a drone. He added that across the region, 13 were injured.
‘In the area near the border, the position remains hostile; however, our defenders are effectively operating to eliminate the enemy,’ said Smirnov. Reuters could not confirm the cases of shooting and people killed and injured personally.
The famous Russian regions, for example, Belgorod, which is located side by side with Kursk, have been subject to Ukrainian shelling during the process of the war in Ukraine and occasional encroachments by different groups of anti-moderate Russian military men who are participating in a fight against Kremlin’s Russia to support Ukraine.
