Russian tourist injured in alleged rhino attack at Assam’s Kaziranga National Park

A wild rhinoceros of Assam’s Kaziranga National Park implicated attacked a Russian traveller, resulting in severe injuries, which were informed by the individual closely associated with the events. This incident happened on Friday. Soon after that, the park officials took the responsibility of freeing an international tourist from the Kohra range of the park on March 24.

The tourist, who was named Nikita, arrived in India on March 13. After a day of travelling, she reached Assam on March 16. Sadly, despite this, his journey from Kolkata to Guwahati was not yet over, and his bag, including his mobile phone, was then stolen.

After waking up on March 24, the tourist was found in the river`s Mora Diphlu area. When the forest officials came, the men in this state immediately took him to a government hospital in Kohra for treatment.

As he came to following first aid, Koriaboksin told the news media centre about the particulars of the attack. He pointed out the global investigator on rhinos and was interested in them before.

Koriaboksin narrates that during his forest adventuring, he found a rhino calf, and though unaware of the mother pad being around, he went near the baby beast. Next, the attacked son was attacked by the raging mother rhino and finally lost control of his consciousness. He was eventually rescued.

In the interview, Sonali Ghosh, the director of KNP, said that authorities had not represented the tourist and she had not done a safari book before going into the forest. According to Ghosh, it was realised that the park requires harmony between the inhabitants and the wildlife. He added that the tourist contravened the existing order in the empire. Therefore, he was taken into custody by the police, avoiding further damage to the property.

The district forest officials of Golaghat were not sure about the possibility of rhinos as the beast that scared the Russian tourist ‘The only ones to be hurt were these two’, probably being shown in the autopsy performed on Koriaboksin. ‘Let us hope the investigation by the police will shed more light on further events’.

Koriaboksin, the victim of the current assault case, is under care. This information has been provided by Rajen Singh, the superintendent of police at Golaghat. Since no formal complaint has been filed against him, any legal actions will not be performed at this point of time. The authorities will check mainly the circumstances regarding the case.
