Saudi Arabia and UAE call for restraint in the Middle East amid rising tensions

The United Arab Emirates has jointly declared with Saudi Arabia that the need of the hour is that of maximum self-restraint in the Middle East to prevent tremendous consequences of war. With the crisis developing between Iran and Israel, the two sides released a surprisingly clear-cut statement advocating the safety of the region.

The declaration came after an Al-Riyadh-Mushrizat telephone conversation between Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Salman, and United Arab Emirates’s president, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The phone call was held in the wake of Iran’s missile and drone strike on Israel, which are the main for the current escalation.

Leaders shared their views about the changing circumstances in the Middle East and tackled the emerging challenges these transformations might bring regarding security and stability. The UAE leader made the first call, a testimony to the fact that they had a common responsibility, at least to some extent, to find an approach that could avert the tensions from escalating.

International players, which include the United States, the Western world, and Arabs, have pleaded for apparent Israeli extremely tactical behavior that is intended to risk a wider conflict. The Saudi crown prince also spoke to the Qatari ruler to diffuse the further military conflict.

The Leagues of Saudi Arabia and UAE have had different views on the matter. However, they reached a common understanding of unity and facing the same threats. The Iranian-Arab countries have shared not only ideological contradictions but also conflicts of interest regarding their policies towards Iran, the Yemeni crisis, and the assertion of regional leadership.

The growing up and down between Iran and Israel has consequently been the cause of tensions across the whole region. The matter of Jordan’s stability is becoming particularly worrying for the Saudi Arabians and the Emirates as the latter, who find themselves between a wall that is the Israeli government and forces from Iran trying to take advantage of this conflict between Palestinians and Israelis.

Growing more familiar with Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have not only verbalized but also recognized the value of defending and protecting their security. Even though there have been breakthroughs in diplomatic channels, they still maintain vigilance regarding Iran’s regional ambitions
