Anti-Hindu messages have been sprayed on the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in California on Wednesday.
It is the second time in a month that a Hindu temple was vandalized in the country, with the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Melville, New York, also desecrated similarly.
Such phrases as “Hindus go back” were messages plastered on the temple, in which it was given to understand that Hindumisia was on the rise in the country.
“Less than 10 days after the desecration of the BAPS Mandir in New York, our Mandir in the Sacramento, CA area was trashed last night with anti-Hindu hate:
Hindus go back!” We stand united against hate with prayers for peace,” the BAPS Public Affairs said in a post in X.
The community leaders held a prayer ceremony at the temple following the desecration.
For her part, California State Assembly Member Stephanie Nguyen attended the prayer along with the Mayor of Elk Grove, Bobbie Singh-Allen, the Vice Mayor of the City of Rancho Cordova, Siri Pulipati, and the Police Chief of the City of Rancho Cordova, Matthew Tamay, among many others.
