Tensions flare on Israel-Lebanon border as conflict looms

Kiryat Shmona, a town at the Israeli border with Lebanon, regularly suffers Hezbollah attacks, and reportedly, like David Kamari, many people have lost hope. Kamari and the other characters stay in the building even though the attacks are happening endlessly, and Kamari calls for “war with Hezbollah. ” Kiryat Shmona’s mayor, Avichai Stern, agrees with the sentiment, saying that no country would accept such attacks on its people.

This incredibly volatile status quo is further threatened by a war in Gaza, where the Israeli PM Netanyahu is far from seeking a ceasefire; he is on record as vowing to obliterate Hamas.

This duality of losing a war and risking another confrontation that might lead to Hezbollah’s realization of its ambitions has made many Israelis gradually ready for a military solution against this organization.

On the Lebanese side, people like Fatima Belhas have fully accepted the fact that their towns will be subjected to frequent air raids by Israel.

The leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, stated that there won’t be a place in Israel that would be invulnerable in a war. However, the possibility of a misunderstanding escalates as both actors act in a reciprocal spiral of reciprocal terrorist operations.

People of both territories do not want the next time the two enemies fight to turn into a catastrophic large-scale war. The same could be said by one of the Israeli residents as he stated that we are condemned to more wars forever until Israel neutralizes or destroys Hezbollah.
