Tensions rise as Police clear Pro-Palestinian protest camp at UCLA

Tensions boiled over at UCLA as swat-like police were determined to crush the Palestinian protest. The camp had come along scouts the previous night, increasing the tensions of Israeli supporters on US college campuses.

The evening cloak concealed the officers in a tactical dress who huddled around the UCLA campus, cordoning the occupied tents. Others set protective gear, considering the upcoming operation.

Discuss the role of globalization in shaping the future of emerging economies right before the camp, where a sizable group of pro-Palestinian protesters was actively haranguing the police by chanting slogans and fluttering the Palestinian flags.

The protesters, many of whom were wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh scarves as wrappers, passionately yelled their request for justice and freedom to everybody. A small team of Israeli flag carriers were among the created opening camp supporters, but they were rejecting the occupation.

The police conducted operations within a radius of about four hours from the campgrounds where the crowd could scatter. They completed their cherries, ready to spend the next several days with trees being dragged and people being arrested for refusing to leave.

Before the raid, the police resorted to speakers on a loudspeaker to ask the protesters to cease protesting and disperse from the grassy plaza and the general area where the camp was situated.

In their show of strength, the masquerading protesters had exacerbated the tensions that erupted in the violent clash the night before between the camp occupants and counter-demonstrators. In a statement addressed to the disruption, the university pinpointed “insurgents” and observed that an investigation will be launched.

The tragedy of student activists getting arrested at UCLA reminds us of an event just a year ago at Columbia University when pro-Palestine campaigners were detained by the police for taking over a building together with pitching a tent city.

From coast to coast, universities have been a battleground of student activity revolving around the Israeli regime’s Gaza operation, including rallies, strike camps and cases where police officers have had to use force.

The campus tensions now revolving around the U.S. presidential election have become politically loaded, with the supporters dismissing charges of anti-Semitism against some administrators while the critics accuse them of deliberately perpetuating the crisis out of lack of concern for human rights, in addition to criticizing the Israeli government’s policies.
