Tensions rise in Israel Amid fears of Hezbollah, Iran response

Speaking of the situation when people are expecting a strike, those sources mention that there is concern but there is also acceptance, in the context of Israeli specialists.

People in Israel are gearing up for revenge on the assassinations this week of Hamas Political Bureau Chief and a commander linked to the Lebanese group, Hezbollah, Analyst Said.

Fuad Shukr, Hezbollah commander, and Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas, who contributed to the negotiations of the ceasefire in Gaza, were assassinated within a few hours in Beirut and Tehran.

Haniyeh’s killing is yet to be addressed by Israel, which only advanced a claim in Shukr’s. We need to pause and reflect on where this maps us to if Israel’s mission is to kill top Palestinian leaders and if those that die are people it never knew or have never heard of, and specifically in Haniyeh’s case, people whom the state that claims to have killed them has never even addressed by name.

Hezbollah’s enemies, including Israeli military strategists, attributed a recent attack that killed twelve children in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights to Shukr, although the organization has denied any involvement.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threatened to mete out’severe revenge’ to Israel in reaction to the assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran.

Iran’s leaders have vowed this would be a ‘harsh revenge’. While thousands of people of Tehran went out on the streets to pay homage to the dead Hamas leader, Iranian dailies have depicted the event through revenge, befitting funerals, and defiance.

The Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s leader as well, added that a response is evidently inevitable.

Expecting such a response from the Palestinians, Israel’s military stated that it was on “high alert” from the Israeli media. They said that Israel was keen to the last pockets of an international coalition pinpoint to defer attack.

In April, after Israel bombed the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus, Israel stated, with cooperation from the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, they had downed missiles and drones supplied by Iran for an unheard of assault.
