Tragedy in Gaza: Israeli strikes kill dozens, including children

Tragically, over fifty individuals have been murdered in as many Israeli operations across the central and southern sectors of Gaza. The worst event happened when an Israeli air raid attacked a school in the Deir el-Balah that has become a shelter for thousands of Palestinian refugees.

Thus, the representatives of the Palestinian authorities reported at least 30 casualties in the attack on the Khadija School, including 15 children and 8 women. More than a hundred were also said to have been injured in the strike.

The Israeli military said the building housed a “Hamas command and control center” and weapons; the military said it had provided civilians in the building with warning.

Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir el-Balah was overcrowded and filled with distress; the doctors and nurses could not properly tend to the injured. An attack on the Khadija School has been described as a “massacre” by Hamas – the Palestinian group that controls Gaza.

This latest attack is a part of an ongoing scale-up of violence in the region, with the Israel-Gaza crisis still ongoing. People all around the world are urged to stand up and do something to stop the violence that still goes on and takes so many lives in Gaza.
