In the wake of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ recent arrest, Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to share an image of his political rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.
It was fake. He later deleted it, but the edited image has been stirring controversy.
In this manipulated image, a picture of the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Kamala Harris appears next to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. The implication of the caption reads that somehow she was related to his “freakoffs”—that is, a word connected with his charges.
The manipulated image is supported by a 2001 photograph of Harris with then-talk show host Montel Williams and his daughter Ashley. On the picture, though, Trump posted Williams’ face replaced by Combs’.
A doctored photo of the image has been spreading like wildfire on social media, captioned inset “Kamala doing the Diddy” and “Madam Vice President, have you ever been involved with or engaged in one of Puff Daddy’s freak-offs?”
This manipulated image is far from new. The president has a habit of sharing doctored images. That includes a false image claiming Taylor Swift supported his presidential campaign and a manipulated view of Harris at the Democratic National Convention.
Combs was recently charged and indicted on sex trafficking, racketeering, and other major offenses.
The charges stemmed from accusations that he forced the victims into prolonged sexual acts, known as “freak-offs” by the prosecutors, and the use of drugs to force them into these acts.
The legal troubles follow a lawsuit filed against him last year by his former girlfriend, Cassie. She resolved the case just weeks after filing it; Combs had denied the claims.
