Trump rejects use of props or lifts in upcoming debate with Kamala Harris

Donald Trump rules out height adjustments in Kamala Harris debate.

Ahead of his debate with Kamala Harris, Donald Trump has said no height adjustments like props or lifts will be allowed.

In a post on Truth Social, the former US President termed such aids as “cheating” and recalled disallowing then New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg from using a lift in a past debate.

Trump is officially listed at 6’3 while Harris is believed to stand at 5’4, with heels possibly increasing her height.

It remains unclear if debate host ABC News will accept Trump’s demands on the matter. Previously too, he had mocked Bloomberg over a potential change in appearance.

Strict rules have been laid down for the candidates, including no audience, 2 minutes each for answers, and 1 minute for follow-ups from the moderator.

Each will get paper, pen, water, and 2 minutes for closing statements but no pre-written notes or props on stage. Campaign interaction during ad breaks is barred as well.

All eyes are on the high-stakes debate between the 2024 presidential election hopefuls from opposite parties next week.
