Trump to meet Modi next week amid upcoming US visit

Ex-US President Donald Trump said he would be getting together with Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week when the latter visits the US, calling Modi a “wonderful man.” Trump made this remark at his first public event since a possible assassination attempt on him recently. On Tuesday, Trump showered Modi with compliments, saying he would be visiting him next week and hailing Modi as a “great man.”

The Ministry of External Affairs finally announced PM Modi’s planned official visit to the United States from September 21 to 23. He will attend the Quad Leaders’ Summit, which will involve leaders from Australia and Japan. The meeting has been planned at the summit to be hosted by Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, and Modi will be accompanied by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.

After the summit, Modi will fly to New York to speak at a large community event in Long Island on September 22. In the future, on September 23, he will be addressing world leaders at the Summit of the Future held at the UN. This visit comes just weeks before the US presidential elections scheduled for November 5 with Trump and the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, in contention.
