US Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has called on Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza before he ‘returns to office, a report by the Times of Israel says.
The Israeli news outlet, citing two sources in its report, said Trump delivered the message in July when the duo met at the former president’s Florida Mar-a-Lago resort.
While Trump had admitted earlier that he asked Netanyahu to win the war quickly, he has now attached a deadline of January 20.
During the campaign trail, Trump has largely avoided talking about the ongoing war in West Asia but has indicated full support for the military operation of Israel against Iran and the proxies backed by it.
He even advocated for Israel attacking the nuclear sites in the Shi’ite country. That’s the thing you wanna hit,” Trump said during a Fayetteville, North Carolina rally.
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, on the other hand, has branded Trump ‘dangerous’ for West Asia. “I think that Donald Trump is dangerous,” Harris said during a CNN town hall last week.
“I believe that when you have a president of the United States who has said to his generals who worked for him because he is Commander in Chief-these conversations, I assume, many of them took place in the Oval Office-if the president of the United States, the Commander in Chief, is saying to his generals, in essence, ‘Why can’t you be more like Hitler’s generals?’ Anderson, come on,” she added.
