Over the last couple of weeks, there have been talks indicating that America may be rethinking its assistance to Ukraine in the military sphere, possibly performing strikes within Russian territory using equipment manufactured in the United States. President Joe Biden said that the idea of removing geographical limitations on the use of weapons is a subject that the administration is already in the process of solving.
During one of their joint visits to Kyiv, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that he and other British officials would keep a close eye on this issue, which indicates that the United States may be changing its policy on the matter. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul was quick to point out that Blinken may provide some good news on easing restrictions.
At the same time, Putin pointed to NATO’s possible involvement in strikes against Russia and noted that this would immediately change the nature of the conflict.
Ukraine’s military has recently been quite effective in its operations, which helped the country recover vast territories; nonetheless, threats still remain due to constant drone strikes by the Russians. Some have highlighted rising defence relations between Russia and other countries, such as Iran, which have provided short-range ballistic missiles.
The situation continues to unfold, therefore making the relationship between Ukraine, Russia, and their allies changeable, which could impact the general Geopolitical structure.
