Admiral Sir Tony Radakin said that all Russia’s gains are worth “for tiny increments of land.” However, it is putting immense pressure on Ukraine. Britain’s chief defense on Sunday said that the Russian Army suffered a loss of 1,500 dead and injured in October alone as a result of the Ukraine war.
Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, talking to BBC: The Russians are paying an “extraordinary price” because of President Vladimir Putin’s invasion, and the country suffered its worst loss in October since this war began in 2022.
The chief of defense staff said: “Russia is going to pay an enormous price in lives, 700,000 people killed, or this is a huge pain and suffering the Russian nation has to endure as a result of Putin’s ambition.”
Radakin also said Russia’s gains are worthwhile “only for tiny increments of land.” However, it is putting immense pressure on Ukraine.
He says the war, which consumes over 40 percent of public spending on defense and security, is also “a significant burden” for Russia.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s top commander, Col. Gen Oleksandr Syrskyi, has said that the situation in Ukraine continues to be “challenging” and that there are “signs of escalation.”
“The enemy, using its numerical superiority, continues offensive actions and focuses the main efforts on the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions,” he said.
Russia shot down 34 Ukrainian drones attacking Moscow on Sunday, Russia’s defense ministry reported, in the largest attack on the capital since Russia launched its offensive in Ukraine in 2022.
The attack, which resulted in the temporary closing down of three Moscow airports, injured a 52-year-old woman and torched two homes in the Moscow region’s village of Stanovoye, according to the officials.
