Ukraine faces power cuts after major Russian missile attack

Ukraine was forced to begin precautionary power cuts across several areas in response to a major missile strike by Russia. In a video address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the overnight attack included more than 40 missiles and 70 drones, targeting key energy objects, including gas infrastructure.

Russia has attacked Ukrainian energy facilities for months, maintaining that such strikes weaken Ukraine’s military.

Meanwhile, President Zelenskyy has visited Poland to see the Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, to show that diplomatic efforts are still well underway despite the raging war.
